Ancient Rome: the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum

We will begin with the Colosseum, and you will discover that this is not what the Romans called it. Animals, people sentenced to death and gladiators were the, more or less, voluntary protagonists on the arena.
Who the gladiators were? How did they train? Is it true that they often died during fighting? This visit has in store many hidden surprises. Then, we will move on to the the Palatine hill, where Romulus founded the city twenty-eight centuries ago.
From this site where the emperors lived, we will be able to see the Circus Maximus, the Hippodrome which could hold 250,000 spectators to watch the chariot races. Finally, we will end with the Forum, the great monumental square in the center of the city. Temples, basilicas, orator podiums, the home of the Vestal virgins. As well as the ruins of the location where the Dictator, Julius Caesar, was burned. Trough this walk we will attempt to reconstruct the events of the greatest empire that ever existed.
